Ed Hallenbeck is an experienced and respected consultant with expertise in career planning and development, human resource management, training and coaching, and organizational and workforce development. He has extensive experience providing professional career consulting services to a diverse group of high school students, undergraduate and graduate students, adults in transition and clients from a variety of cultures and backgrounds in both onsite and distance environments.
In addition, Ed has fifteen years of experience as a human resource manager in public education and the private sector. He earned an M.A. in Community Psychology from Sage Graduate School in Albany, New York, where he was unanimously selected as the "outstanding student in the community psychology program" by the psychology faculty. He also holds a B.S. in Education from the State University of New York at Cortland.
Ed has been designated as a Master Career Development Professional (MCDP). This special membership status from the National Career Development Association (NCDA) honors those members who provide specialized career development services, and who meet specific education and experience requirements set by the NCDA.
He is also internationally certified as a Job and Career Transition Coach, as well as a Job and Career Development Coach. These certifications were granted by the Career Planning and Adult Development Network after successful completion of an intensive, multi-day training program.
Besides holding these multiple certifications, Ed is qualified to administer and interpret a variety of career assessments - including the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and Strong Interest Inventory. He is also certified in human resource studies, employee complaint handling and team development facilitation.
Ed is an active member of the NCDA, Capital Region Career Consortium, Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), Capital Region Human Resource Association (CRHRA) and the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of CRHRA, as well as a former Chairperson of their Workforce Readiness Committee.
Ed is also a graduate of the Entrepreneurial Boot Camp at the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber, where he was selected as the first place winner of the Boot Camp's business plan competition.
